Put a daily Bible verse on your Apple Watch with a watch face complication, a Smart Stack widget and the Bible Widgets Watch app.

To get a daily Bible verse on your Apple Watch, install the Bible Widgets Watch app, then add its complication to your watch face or tap Set as Watch face in the iPhone app under Profile, then Watch. The verse then sits next to the time and changes on its own; raising your wrist is enough to read it.
This guide covers the three places a verse can live on the Watch, the complication, the Smart Stack and the Watch app, and how to choose the topic it draws from. You need the free Bible Widgets app on an iPhone paired with an Apple Watch running watchOS 9.6 or later.
In three places. A complication is a small slot on the watch face: the circular one fits a few words, the rectangular one has room for a short verse and its reference. The Smart Stack is the row of widgets you reach by turning the Digital Crown on the watch face, where a Bible Widgets card can sit among your other widgets. The Watch app lets you read more verses on your wrist when a glance is not enough.
All three draw from the same topic, which you set once on the iPhone. That makes the Watch a quiet companion to the iPhone Lock Screen widget you may already use, rather than one more thing to configure.
On the iPhone open Bible Widgets, go to Profile and tap Watch. Under Topics for Watch pick what you want to read, for example Bible verses, prayers or a theme such as Hope or Strength. The app notes that the selected topic applies to everything on the Watch: the face, complications, widgets and app.
Themes and category mixes do not sync between iPhone and Watch, so the Watch keeps its own selection even if you change the phone's. If the iPhone reports that the Watch is not reachable, open Bible Widgets on the Watch and tap Try again; the two need to be connected to sync settings.
On the iPhone open the Watch app, scroll to Available Apps and tap Install next to Bible Widgets. You can also install it from the App Store on the Watch. It needs watchOS 9.6 or later.
In Bible Widgets on the iPhone go to Profile, tap Watch and choose your topic under Topics for Watch. Keep the Watch nearby so the setting syncs.
On the same screen tap Set as Watch face to add a face that already shows the verse complication. The app has to be installed on the Watch first, or it will ask you to install it.
Press and hold your watch face, tap Edit, swipe to the complications screen and tap a slot. Choose Bible Widgets. A rectangular slot shows a short verse; a circular slot shows a few words.
On watchOS 10 or later, turn the Digital Crown on the watch face to open the Smart Stack. Press and hold the stack to edit it, tap the plus button and choose Bible Widgets.
Tap the complication or the Bible Widgets icon to open the app on your wrist and read further verses. Reading there is a quiet way to pause without taking out your phone.
To change settings, yes. The topic is chosen on the iPhone and syncs to the Watch over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, so keep the two connected when you change it.
No. Streaks are not available on Apple Watch. Reading on the Watch is a passive glance, so your streak still counts what you read in the iPhone app.
No. The Watch app is for Apple Watch only. On Android, use the Home Screen widget and daily reminders; the Android guide covers both.
Yes. The Watch has its own topic in Profile, then Watch, so you can keep prayers on the wrist and verses on the phone, or the other way round.
