Six short prayers for patience — for a longer fuse, a slower pace, and grace with the people who test you most.

Patience is not a mood you wait to arrive. It is usually a decision made about half a second before you would have said the other thing.
These six prayers are for that half second. Some ask for a slower pace; some ask for a quieter tongue. Say one before the meeting, the message, or the conversation you are dreading.

“Lord, grant me patience to wait on your timing and to act with grace in all things.”

“Father, when I am tempted to rush, slow me down. When I am tempted to quit, hold me up.”

“God, remove the rush. Teach me to move at the pace of peace.”

“Dear God, teach me patience as I await Your timing, trusting it is perfect.”

“Father, when I am tempted to speak in anger, quiet my tongue. When I am tempted to shut down, open my heart.”

“God, help me slow down enough to notice who needs a kind word.”
